Hotels where US presidents stay when visiting Phoenix and Arizona's most iconic destination Donald Trump and Barack Obama may have their differences, but they do have one thing in common: Neither has stayed at the Phoenix hotel famous for hosting presidents. A 2018 Trump visit in advance of a fundraiser and rally wasn't at the Arizona Biltmore, which — until Obama — had been the Phoenix hotel of choice for visiting presidents. The iconic, Frank Lloyd Wright-inspired hotel has hosted U.S. presidents ever since Herbert Hoover dropped by in April 1932, three years after the Biltmore opened.
